Soul-Found-Denim is a project based on sustainable processes and elements that can be incorporated into a design collection. Since Denim is one of the most versatile pieces of clothing, a classic, I realized through research that denim is also one of the most polluting apparel created by the fashion industry. For this project, I have researched and utilized sustainably sourced raw materials like organic cotton, Tencel, environmentally friendly dyeing techniques like bio-synthetic dyes, foam dyeing, indigo plant-based dyes. For the collection, I deconstructed and draped two vintage denim trousers to arrive at a unique silhouette which is almost Avant-garde for a customer who is an influencer and could trickle down this concept.
